Solo Teaser Shows Millennium Falcom in Mint Condition

Solo: A Star Wars Story teaser trailer is here (finally) and we get our first look at Alden Ehrenreich as the infamous Han Solo. Here is the official synopsis so far:

Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in Solo: A Star Wars Story, an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.

It sounds more like an intro to a ride in Disneyland but heck; what do I know? That aside, the trailer doesn't show us much but did tell us a little bit about Han's backstory.

Here's the trailer if you haven't check it out yet:

This film has been bombarded with rumours these past few months with reports saying Phil and Lord Miller getting fired, Alden incapable of improvising and massive amount of re-shoots by Ron Howard. And the fact that the first trailer is released three months before the release date is kinda concerning to be honest.

It gives us a little bit of look at Han Solo, and he does speaks in the trailer; so its not like they're keeping that away from us. We yet to see his mannerism and personally; I don't want him to impersonate Han Solo. I just want to see him having that scoundrel attitude and 'swag'.

Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo

Han Solo looking mysterious behind in what I would assume an Imperial ship door?

We also get to see Donald Glover as Lando. I am so happy he get his big break as Lando in the Star Wars universe. The guy is massively talented. The first time I saw him is in 2009 Community series and from there, I also discovered that he has a couple of albums under his belt. At one point in the trailer, we can see him piloting the Millennium Falcom and he's also in a casino confronting Han Solo. Could this be where Lando loses his ship to him?

Donal Glover as Lando Calrissian

Lando looking sleek as ever. I'm not sure if he'll still smile after losing the ship to Han.

Talk about Millennium Falcon, there's a quick glance of the interior of the ship looking so clean. Like REALLY clean. Unless it's another model of the Falcon, then Han got some serious explaining to do on how the Falcon got real dirty in the original trilogies. My guess? He probably smuggled in some nasty creatures or monsters for trade one time too many.

I don't know what's whiter. This interior pad in Millenium Falcom or Donald Trump. Oops

Emilia Clarke is also seen here in the trailer. Apparently, she plays Qi’ra and not much is known about her until Clarke herself give us a little tease. She says;

“She has a couple of guises, but essentially she is just fighting to stay alive. If you’ve got a really glamorous lady in a really sordid environment, you kind of know the glamour is hiding a few rough roads.”

Seems like she's someone who will revolve around Lando's and Han's journey; trying to survive. Probably Han's love interest? Who wouldn't fall in love with her? I mean look at her! Well, up until she says "All men must die". (Game of Thrones joke, I'm sorry; can't help it)

Emilia Clarke as Qi'ra

Personally, this trailer makes me more excited to see the movie. Now I'm not saying that this is gonna be the best Star Wars movie ever (The Last Jedi is up there for me) but it certainly has that potential.. IF and ONLY IF Alden Ehrenreich gets to pull of his Han Solo performance.

You gotta to give it to the guy, he is really brave to take this role. It's not an easy role at all just because there's so many hardcore Star Wars fans know Han Solo from Harrison Ford's performance. Even the ones who don't like Star Wars, likes Han solo. This movie make or fail is probably on his shoulder, and frankly speaking.. all the rumors surrounded this movie doesn't really help him.

Having said that, I still think that they should give more in this trailer just to get the audiences hooked up. Movie fans and Star Wars fandom who's in the loop will probably know that this movie does not happen after SW: The Last Jedi but how about the majority average audience. Would it throw them off?

Only time will tell. Han Solo: A Star Wars Story will be released on May 25th. -mrM
